Team Building Quotes From Mohammad Ali

Team Building Quotes From Mohammed Ali

Mohammad Ali is an American former professional boxer, generally considered among the greatest heavyweights in the history of the sport. He is one of the most recognized sports figures in the past 100 years and was crowned “Sportsman of the Century” by Sports Illustrated and “Sports Personality of the Century” by the BBC. Ali remains the only three-time lineal world heavyweight champion; he won the title in 1964, 1974, and 1978. Between February 25, 1964 and September 19, 1964 Muhammad Ali reigned as the undisputed heavyweight boxing champion. Nicknamed “The Greatest”, Ali was involved in several historic boxing matches. Notable among these were the first Liston fight, three with rival Joe Frazier, and one with George Foreman.

What Are You Waiting For?

Maya Angelou Quote

“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” – Maya Angelou

Newton’s first law of motion states that an object remains at rest unless acted upon by a force. This is also the case in our lives. Unless some force is exerted, whether it is external or internal, things will remain the same.  If you are waiting for some external force to change your situation, it may never happen.

If you want to see positive change in your life, you are going to have to take the initiative and make things happen. Seize the moment and develop a plan of action. Decide what you want out of life and pursue that plan until something happens.

What if you do not accomplish those things you pursued? You will still be far better off in seeking after something than you would have been waiting for something to happen. By pursuing something you would have learned new information and obtained skills you could never have acquired by simply sitting and waiting for things to change.

Happy Accidents

Quote from Scott Adams

“Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.”
– Scott Adams

Not all accidents are bad. My art lecturer at university used to tell the students to look out for ‘happy accidents’ in your art making process. These happy accidents are something you did not plan to do, but the ‘mistake’ actually makes the artwork better.  Many times we think we make mistakes which are not really mistakes at all but fortuitous events brought about by a strange series of circumstances, producing an unexpected result.

The key to recognizing these happy accidents when they occur, is to be receptive and open-minded. Always keep in mind that just because something turns out different to what you expected, it does not mean it is ruined or spoiled. Many new recipes have been created because someone fouled up the mixture of ingredients only to create a delightful tasting new product.

Next time when what you deem to be an accident happens, carefully examine the results. You cannot undo the mistake so you might as well analyze it. You never know what you might come up with. Even if you cannot make use of it at the least you would have learnt from the mistake.
