Adapt IT is a leader in the ICT market through the provision of software solutions to the Education, Manufacturing, Energy, Financial Services, Communications and Hospitality sectors, employing over 1 000 technology professionals and servicing more than 10 000 customers in 53 countries.

Group Drumming is an excellent activity for stress release, group bonding, team building and the synchronizing of thought processes. This team building activity also helps to break barriers of race, language, gender and hierarchy within teams. Group awareness and communication are highlighted while spontaneity and laughter are encouraged.

People tend to only trust people that they know and understand. When you first start a team, it is important that you share your background with the team. Encourage the team to also share information about themselves and create opportunities for the team to socialize together. The better the team members get to know each other, the easier it will be for them to trust each other. When there is a general feeling of mistrust in a team no amount of team building will motivate the team members to work together. Communication is another essential component of trust building. When team leaders keep their team informed, they send a clear message that they trust their team members. When you give trust, you gain even more trust back.

As we are all aware, communication is a big part of our daily life. Whether it be in the workplace, at home, or socially, effective communication is an essential skill for everyone. Communication does not ‘just happen’, for effective communication to occur in a team there has to be an effective communication strategy in place. Communication does not begin with talking and convincing, but with hearing and understanding. It is also important for your team to understand that when it comes to communication it is essential to understand that people respond to the world as they see it.
