Organizations looking to adopt a more inclusive environment have the challenge of assimilating members outside of the dominant group. Fostering a diverse workforce also leads to challenges in the management of a diverse population. Managing diversity is more than simply acknowledging differences in people; teams that are highly diverse can be difficult to motivate and manage. Miscommunication is one of the key issues that need to be addressed when it comes to workplace diversity.
Diversity in the workplace has become a prominent issue that needs to be addressed with the world becoming more mobile and diverse. Participants in TBAE’s Workplace Diversity Course will be given strategies for removing barriers and stereotypes. They will learn how these strategies can be implemented to promote diversity in the workplace. Effective questioning techniques and ways to communicate with strength are some of the skills that will be acquired in the course.
In the Workplace Diversity Course, participants will be given a better understanding of diversity. They will learn how to break down barriers by changing their personal approach and identifying their baggage. Participants will be encouraged to become proactive in their workplace to promote diversity, prevent discrimination and will be given ways to discourage discrimination. Further subjects covered in the Workplace Diversity Course include Understanding Stereotypes, Breaking Down the Barriers, Verbal Communication Skills, Non-Verbal Communication Skills, Coping with Discrimination, Dealing with Diversity Complaints as a Person, Dealing with Diversity Complaints as a Manager and Dealing with Diversity Complaints as an Organization.
