In South Africa, Allergan trades as Allergan Pharmaceuticals (Pty) Ltd. The local commercial business (South Africa and Sub Saharan Africa), is located in Midrand and manages three portfolios, namely Medical Aesthetics, Ophthalmology (wide range of products) and Speciality Care, for registered indications pertaining to Central Nervous System and Urology.
The two themes facilitated for Allergan Pharmaceuticals were Laughter Games and Resilience Outcome Based team building. Laughter and playful communication, strengthen relationships by fostering emotional connections and positive feelings between team members. Being able to laugh, play and have fun together makes being part of a team more enjoyable and helps the team to solve problems, connect with each other and be more creative. Playing with a problem can often lead to a creative learning opportunity. Humor will give your team a new perspective that is more relaxed, creative, positive, balanced and joyful.
Resiliency is the ability to endure high levels of change while maintaining a high level of performance. Rather than an absolute characteristic, resilience is a combination of character traits in people. Resilient people tend to see more opportunities than non-resilient people. A Resilient team tends to grow stronger from the experience when they are confronted with the ambiguity, anxiety and loss of control that accompanies change. A team that is not resilient will tend to feel depleted from all the emotions that come with change. Resilient team members are able to make quicker and more effective adaptation to change. They understand that the future contains shifting variables, and are willing to remain loyal during periods of disruption. The individual members of your team may shift between sides of the resilience continuum, depending on the nature of the change experienced.
Some of the individual team building exercises included Bucket Challenge, Water Transfer and Pendulum Walk amongst others.
