Coaching is a process that helps to identify the skills and capabilities that exist within people and enable them to use these skills to the best of their abilities. Mentoring is teaching people how to do something by showing them how it is done. Coaching and mentoring provide employees with positive support, feedback and advice to help improve their personal effectiveness in the workplace.

Coaching is not restricted to external experts. Many organizations expect their leadership to coach and mentor team members to reach higher levels of performance and development. Mentoring involves a developmental relationship between a more experienced mentor and a less experienced partner. It typically involves the sharing of knowledge and experience.

The Coaching and Mentoring Course focus on how to better coach your employees to higher levels of performance. Your ability to coach is closely related to your ability to foster a strong working relationship with your employees. Coaching and mentoring involves relationship building and strategic goal setting.

In TBAE’s Coaching and Mentoring Course participants will learn how mentoring differs from coaching and how they can effectively integrate the two models. Other subjects covered in the course includes Defining Coaching and Mentoring, Setting Goals, Understanding the Reality, Developing Options, The Importance of Trust, Providing Feedback and Overcoming Roadblocks.

For a virtual team building option of this course see our Online Soft Skills Workshops for Teams.
