Effective presentations and public speaking skills are important in business, sales and selling, training, teaching, lecturing, and generally feeling comfortable speaking to a group of people. Everyone can learn the skills and techniques they need to increase their level of confidence and performance when presenting. Public speaking is a set of skills not a talent.
The Presentation Skills course will give participants some presentation skills that will make speaking in public less terrifying and more enjoyable. Developing the confidence and capability to give good presentations, and to stand up in front of an audience and speak well. You need to prepare good, interesting, engaging content. You must be confident in presenting the material, using various types of visual aids, and engaging the audience.
You will learn to perform a needs analysis and prepare an outline. There are different delivary methods, learn to select the approporiate one for your presentation. This course will also trach you how to practise your verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Everybody has nervesourssness, but you will learn how to control this. Use different tools in your presentation such as flip charts with color, or targeted powerpoint presentations and use white boarding for re-inforcement. Electronic means such as audio and video could enhance your presentation. Learn to list the criteria for determining what tools to use. Learn how to use questions, discussions or humour to keep you audience engaged.
